so i was digging thru some data backups for some old files and came across something that i remembered submitting as a deviation, but that wasn't in my gallery.  and it made me remember that i used to have an account here with a different deviant name.  well, DA never kills inactive accounts, so i started looking for the old account by putting names in front of *.deviantart.com.  low and behold i found it. is a deviant since Jan 29, 2001, 3:17 PM has 112 pageviews last visited 97w 1d 23h 6m 7s ago ok, so 97 weeks is pretty funny.  but the kicker is this:  the number for the first deviation i submitted with that account was in the 13,000s.

all this week, i've been slowly working to rerender some of my more recent fractals.  not because i don't like them, but because i've set up an account at zazzle.com.  it took awhile because i've had to adjust some of the aspect ratios as well as render them at huge resolutions (7800 x 5200).  some of them took more than an hour of dedicated processor time (2GHz too) to spit out tiff files in excess of 100Megs.  whatever, they look amazing.  and if you have an extra $130, you can have a 6.5 foot long poster of one of my fractals.  :) i might set up a deviantart prints account soon.  the print DPI is higher than zazzle's and i'll certainly ge
